Recalling their warm meeting on the margins of the recent NATO summit, Gitanas Nausėda thanked the American leader for his special focus on the security of Lithuania and the Baltic region. The President underlined that the presence of U.S. troops in Lithuania was the most effective deterrent which contributed to the security of the entire Euro-Atlantic space.
“The United States plays a critical role in ensuring security across the Baltic region. It is my strong belief that shared assessment of the threats to our indivisible security will lead to mutually beneficial decisions, which will enhance the military presence of the United States in Lithuania and the Baltic region,” the President wrote in his message of congratulations.
According to the President, U.S. leadership was of paramount importance to all Western democracies. Therefore, we must do everything we can to make the transatlantic bond and strategic partnership with the United States increasingly stronger.
Gitanas Nausėda expressed hope Lithuania and the United States would further deepen and expand joint economic, business, educational, cultural, scientific, and innovation initiatives.
