The President expressed gratitude to Norway for its consistent contribution to the security of the Baltic countries – the deployment of Norwegian troops to NATO’s enhanced forward presence battlegroup in Lithuania. Lithuania procures the Norwegian air defense system NASAMS to improve its national defense capabilities and jointly carries out training programmes designed to make it operational.
“It is delightful to know that Lithuania and Norway maintain successful bilateral relations and close cooperation ties in the fields of defense, security, economy, and culture,” the President said in his message of congratulations.
Gitanas Nausėda wished the Royal Family and all people of Norway good health and continued success as well as long years of prosperity to the Kingdom of Norway.
