He also stressed that Israel had set an example to be followed by the whole world, which Lithuania would like to use for opening the economy and returning to normal life. Although due to the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, the President of Israel was unable to attend the events dedicated to the 300th anniversary the Vilna Gaon and 700 years of Lithuanian Jewish history, these historical anniversaries of great importance to both nations were commemorated across Lithuania with numerous events, conferences and documentaries.
