“It is with deep sadness that I learned about the passing of Prince Philip. May his soul rest in peace. I extend my profound condolences to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. In this moment of immense loss and sorrow, Lithuania is with you and with the people of the United Kingdom,” the President wrote in his message of condolences.
He recalled the visit of Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh to Lithuania in 2006, which was described as historic by the then President of Lithuania, Valdas Adamkus.
The visit strengthened political, economic and cultural relations between Lithuania and the United Kingdom.
