The Lithuanian minister has already met with China's Minister of Trade Gao Huchengu, participated in the ministerial forum of China, Central and Eastern European countries, and visited an exhibition of production from Central and Eastern European countries, where Lithuanian companies are also participating.
According to Gustas, it is in Lithuania's interest to improve the situation of bilateral trade by offering high quality products and services that would be attractive to Chinese companies, consumers and investors. The minister noted that to improve trade balance it was necessary to ensure smooth entry of Lithuanian production into the Chinese market.
"Meetings with representatives of the Chinese Government and business representatives is a wonderful opportunity to enhance and to develop bilateral cooperation between Lithuania and China. More active political relations encourage more active and smoother economic relations. Seeking new possibilities for export development in China we will pay much attention to promote exports of Lithuanian products and services," says the Lithuanian minister.
On his visit to China, Gustas will also meet with the leadership of the institutions of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, will participate in a round-table discussion with Lithuanian and Chinese businessmen, and open a tourism presentation event in Hong Kong.
