The interlocutors agreed to promote student exchange and discussed Lithuania’s experience in the implementation of EU Twinning projects. The Jordanian Foreign Minister offered to consider resuming travel between Lithuania and Jordan as soon as the health situation allowed. The Foreign Ministers also discussed the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on and measures taken by the two countries.
In addition, the Foreign Ministers discussed the situation in the Middle East and the Middle East peace process. “We support Jordan’s quest for peace in the Middle East region and support a negotiated two-state solution. This remains the only way to put an end to the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians," said the Foreign Minister L. Linkevičius.
The Foreign Ministers agreed to hold bilateral political consultations between the Lithuanian and Jordanian Ministries of Foreign Affairs via video conference in the near future.
