The Battle of Žalgiris (Grunwald) was fought on 15 July 1410. It was one of the largest and most significant medieval encounters in the military history of Lithuania – a landmark victory by the armies of Vytautas the Great of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and King Jogaila (Jagiełło) of Poland against the Teutonic crusaders. The victory at Grunwald has been internationally recognized as a major military strategic campaign.
