“Lithuania adheres to the “One-China” policy and is not trying to challenge it. However, the participation of Taiwanese experts in the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the sharing of experience, is beneficial to all. I hope that a consensus will be reached on the participation of Taiwanese experts in a way that would not violate the principles and rules of international organizations," said L. Linkevičius.
Taiwan has recorded 440 confirmed cases as of 13 May. 375 Covid-19 patients have recovered and seven have died. The country has a population of about 23 million.
A donation of 100,000 medical masks from Taiwan arrived in Lithuania on 20 April.
