This act is the country’s contribution to the implementation of the 2020 funding appeal launched by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), totaling USD 453.27 million.
The Agency was established to carry out direct relief and works programs for Palestine refugees, as they constitute one of the oldest continuous refugee problems in the world. Currently, 5.6 million Palestine refugees are eligible for UNRWA services.
In 2020, Lithuania already allocated EUR 300, 000 in humanitarian aid, mostly to help combat the outbreak.
