Intermedix is headquartered in the US, and supports health care providers, as well as emergency preparedness and response functions for organisations around the world. The company opened an international office to better serve global clients and respond to the round-the-clock demands common to their industries.
For Intermedix, the decision to establish the office in Kaunas was made through extensive research and strategic planning. Doug Shamon, CEO of Intermedix, explained, "Over the past ten years we have expanded our reach to optimise health care delivery for clients around the world. This mission is dynamic, requiring critical thinking and an innovative workforce, and we found that in Kaunas."
"Intermedix's decision to settle in Lithuania is a great accomplishment for the whole country. World renowned names add to the positive image of Lithuania abroad and promote Lithuania as a hotspot for higher added value service centres. Moreover, this is good news to Kaunas, especially for young professionals and universities in the city as Intermedix will not only create new jobs but also invest in training and developing new competencies in the city", said Evaldas Gustas, Minister of Economy of The Republic of Lithuania.
Intermedix is rapidly growing its workforce in Kaunas with skilled professionals to develop IT solutions and support operations. Doug Shamon believes the company will attract many young professionals and graduating students. He hopes to work in close cooperation with universities in mutually-beneficial efforts including career placement, practical training programmes, and potentially contracts for testing and enhancing products. Intermedix places high value on training, and has already invested in sending the first Lithuanian employees for training in the US.
According to Arvydas Arnasius, acting Director General of Invest Lithuania, the arrival of Intermedix in Kaunas is an important development. He said, "We are pleased Intermedix chose Lithuania as its entrance into Europe. The investment simultaneously creates high-skilled jobs and furthers cooperation between institutions of higher education and business. I am convinced that this is just the beginning of a fruitful partnership."
