“I am happy that Poland is not only our neighbor but one of the closest and most important partners and allies in the European Union and NATO. A dialogue based on shared interests and values allows us to counter security, economic and other regional challenges and contribute to the freedom, security and prosperity of our people and all Europeans”, said the President in the message of congratulations.
Lithuania values Poland’s contribution to the strengthening of security in our region – Polish troops participate in defense exercises in Lithuania and took eight rotations in NATO air policing mission in the Baltic States.
This year marks many joint anniversaries: the 450th anniversary of the Lublin Union, the 25th anniversary of the Treaty on Friendly Relations and Good Neighborly Cooperation between Poland and Lithuania, and the tenth anniversary of the Eastern Partnership. According to the President, we are delighted that Lithuania and Poland, acting together, actively help other countries on their path to European integration.
The President emphasized that the people of Lithuania and Poland do not only share common history, but also sincere friendship and cooperation in many areas. The President wished that the close dialogue among people in culture, science, education, business and innovation grew stronger and paved the way for an even stronger partnership.
The President wished the people of Poland continued success, happiness and prosperity.
