L. Linkevičius and the President of Ukraine discussed the challenges Ukraine faced in implementing its reforms in the context of Russia's aggression, the illegal issuance of Russian passports to the residents of Donbas.
“The issue of Ukraine will remain on Lithuania's foreign policy agenda as one of its most important items. Lithuania will continue to express its principled support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. It is evident to the international community that the country has made clear progress on the reform agenda. We must strive to ensure that the results are felt by ordinary citizens of Ukraine as quickly as possible, ” said the Foreign Minister.
In the meeting, L. Linkevičius also emphasized Lithuania's readiness to deliver expert support to the implementation of reforms in Ukraine and offered organizing the next year's conference in Vilnius. V. Zelenskyy backed the Minister’s proposal.
On 1-3 July, the Foreign Minister L. Linkevičius is visiting Canada. He attends the Ukraine Reform Conference in Toronto, which focuses on the international community’s further support for Ukraine.
In 2017, the first Ukraine Reform Conference was held in London. In 2018, Denmark and Ukraine held the second Conference in Copenhagen.
