‘Our countries and people share the common history. Investing in youth helps fostering this relationship and bringing about changes relevant for both countries. For the purpose of the common goals of Lithuania and Ukraine, it is especially important to give young people the opportunity to know each other and strengthen their ties’, said Matulionis.
‘The bond between nations builds on people-to-people contacts. The Lithuanian-Ukrainian Youth Exchange Council seeks stronger ties between young people, providing them with opportunities to know each other, share experience, and put ideas to fruition.
‘Lithuania and Ukraine share the common history, and I am happy that the Youth Exchange Council takes part in this process’, said Eitvydas Bingelis, Vice-Chairman of the Council Committee in Lithuania.
Over its four years in operation, the Council has witnessed the ever growing interest for cooperation with Ukraine. Therefore, the Council is looking for ways to fund ever more projects.
The Lithuanian and Ukrainian Governments have agreed, back in 2015, to set up a Lithuanian-Ukrainian Youth Exchange Council with a view to promoting youth cooperation and thereby - the bilateral relations.
