The Seimas spring session started with the discussion of the results of the Lithuania's Presidency of the EU Council. After the discussions in the Seimas plenary sittings hall, the politicians shared their insights with the mass media,
As deputy Speaker of the Seimas had noted, the program of the Lithuania's Presidency was fulfilled.
Permanent representative of Lithuania to the EU Raimundas Karoblis highlighted that, during the Lithuania's Presidency, there was more done than it was expected at the very beginning. Moreover, Karoblis said that the country received the perfect evaluations of the foreign non-governmental organizations.
While summarizing the lacks of the Lithuania's Presidency, Karoblis highlighted that there was a need for another night for Lithuania while solving the certain issues; however, according to him, this was because of the different positions of the European Commission or the countries
"Despite the fact, 95% of the work was performed," said the permanent representative of Lithuania to the EU.
When Kirkilas expressed his regret over the situation with Ukraine and unsuccessful Eastern Partnership program, the politician received the response from the Ambassador of Georgia to Lithuania.
"I would not like to agree that Lithuania can be blamed for something that was not successful from the perspective of Eastern Partnership. Eastern Partnership summit was the historic event for Georgia. I think that Moldova could say the same (). I have no doubt that Eastern Partnership, as the Lithuania's priority, encouraged the more active involvement," said Salukvadze.
