Dalia Grybauskaitė expressed her strong hope that the trust of Georgian citizens would serve as a source of inspiration to the newly elected president in delivering the goals set and working for the good of the people on the path towards national security, peace and economic prosperity.
According to the President, Georgia faced enormous challenges in fulfilling its national aspirations to live in a free, democratic and European state. Lithuania and the Lithuanian people have always supported Georgia's reforms and efforts to forge strong links with the European Union and NATO.
“I also hope that Lithuania and Georgia, under your presidency, will continue to develop their dialogue, wide-ranging people-to-people contacts and ties of friendship - which will contribute to the prosperity of our both countries,” the President wrote in her message of congratulations.
Dalia Grybauskaitė extended her best wishes for the well-being, happiness and peace of the people of Georgia.
