The President underlined that Turkey was an important partner of Lithuania in developing bilateral and economic ties as well as in addressing security issues within NATO.
She expressed her firm belief that the expanding dialogue between Lithuania and Turkey would not lose momentum and that collaboration in the context of relations with the European Union would contribute to continental unity, security and well-being, opening increasingly more opportunities for the citizens of both countries to work and learn together as they implement mutually beneficial joint projects.
“It is my strong hope that the trust given to you by the people of Turkey will be a source of determination to deliver the goals set on the path towards overcoming the challenges faced by your country, boosting its economy and ensuring the general welfare and security of Turkish citizens,” the President wrote in her message of congratulations.
