Lithuania’s Foreign Minister expressed his pleasure that the Ambassador would be the first Nepali envoy accredited to Lithuania.
Although the two sides acknowledged that the potential of their bilateral cooperation was still untapped, Lithuania’s Foreign Minister noticed that there was a positive change already – representatives of Nepal had expressed their wish to visit Lithuania and gain experience in the field of digital transformation of tax administration.
According to Linkevičius, Nepali students study at Lithuanian universities and the countries are expected to expand the cooperation in providing education at a European level to non-citizens.
Nepal’s Ambassador also held a meeting with the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Neris Germanas to discuss possible economic cooperation between the two countries. Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister invited Nepali representatives to participate in the international exhibitions – ‘AgroBalt 2018’, ‘Life Sciences Baltics 2018’ – that would take place this year in Lithuania.
