Linkevičius sent a letter of congratulations to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo Behgjet Pacolli and welcomed Kosovo’s progress that had been reached over the decade.
Lithuania fully supports your state’s continuing efforts in fortifying its statehood, integrating into the international community and building a democratic, multi-ethnic, and prosperous state,” wrote Lithuania’s Foreign Minister.
Linkevičius also expressed support for Kosovo’s European integration aspirations and offered to share Lithuania’s experience of implementing reforms.
The Seimas (Parliament) of Lithuania recognized Kosovo on 6 May 2008. The countries established their diplomatic relations on 1 September 2008.
