Taking part in informal discussions will be U.S. President Donald Trump and other G7 leaders – French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Theresa May, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni. Other participants include Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Jordanian King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, as well as EU, UN, OECD, and World Bank leaders. Overall, the summit will have over 340 top political leaders, nearly 2000 CEOs and representatives from more than 1000 NGOs.
The President, together with other global leaders, will take part in the summit’s key discussion “Creating a Shared Future in a Fractured World”. It is the World Economic Forum’s focal theme, dedicated to international collaboration for ensuring vital global interests: international security, sustainable development and economic growth.
President Dalia Grybauskaitė, Polish President Andrzej Duda, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, and European Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy Johannes Hahn will be discussion leaders at the interactive session “Central and Eastern Europe: A New Agenda for the Continent”.
The session will focus on the future of the continent and its dependence on a pro-European choice, new initiatives and scenarios for cooperation emerging in northern European, Visegrád and southern EU countries, as well as future relations with the EU’s eastern and southern neighbors.
The President will take part in the final discussion where the keynote speech will be delivered by U.S. President Donald Trump. Dalia Grybauskaitė will meet on the sidelines of the forum with Ángel Gurría, Secretary General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, and Fabiola Gianotti, Director General of CERN - the worlds largest and most advanced research organization. A number of other meetings are also planned.
The President is expected to give interviews to media outlets with global reach.
