The President and the new Ambassador discussed bilateral relations, tourism and other topical issues. According to the President, there is potential to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in trade and tourism.
As regards the relationship between Egypt and the European Union, the President underlined the importance of collaborative work, especially in combating illegal migration and human trafficking.
Ayman Alkaffas is Egypt's tenth ambassador to Lithuania.
The Ambassador started his diplomatic career in 1988. He worked in the Egyptian embassies in Washington and London. In 2017, he was appointed ambassador to Denmark and resides in Copenhagen.
