In the meeting with Singapore’s Minister of Commerce and Industry Lim Hng Kiang, the officials noted that the economic perspective of both countries was closely linked to their achievements in the field of innovative technologies. Financial technologies, lasers, and life sciences were named as the main potential spheres for bilateral economic cooperation.
“Close ties among institutions of the two countries that ensure financial supervision are very important when developing the bilateral cooperation in the field of financial technologies,” said Linkevičius.
The Ministers also discussed topical items on the international trade agenda, underlined the importance of concluding the EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement and its swift entry into force. Linkevičius also held a meeting with the Vice President of the Port Authority of Singapore Christopher Chan and discussed the opportunity for cooperation with the Port of Klaipėda.
