As we are preparing to celebrate our independence centenaries next year, the President wrote in her message of congratulations, we stand committed to the ultimate goal of strengthening and consolidating national independence and civil liberties.
Dalia Grybauskaitė underlined that Poland was Lithuania’s ally and partner in the region, the European Union and NATO, and a like-minded country to address pressing political, economic and security challenges as well as to ensure the freedom, values and interests of our citizens.
She expressed her firm belief that cooperation between Lithuania and Poland, primarily in strategic areas of security, transport, energy, business, and innovation, made both nations considerably stronger, advancing at the same time the long-term sustainability of both the region and the continent.
The President pointed out that close people-to-people contacts as well as the ongoing constructive dialogue, joint cultural, educational and exchange projects would most certainly contribute to reinforcing the European spirit of shared responsibility, values and ideas, resilience to lies and propaganda across our countries and the whole of Europe.
She wished Poland and the Polish people continued success, prosperity and unity.
