In his letter of congratulations, Linkevičius wrote that Lithuania strongly supported Kosovo’s efforts to integrate into Euro-Atlantic and other international organizations. “I am sure that during your period of office the bilateral cooperation between Lithuania and Kosovo will further intensify,” said Linkevičius, who also invited Pacolli to visit Lithuania.
Following an early parliamentary election of 11 June, the new Kosovo Government was formed on 9 September. Pacolli started his term on 11 September.
