The bilateral meeting was held at the initiative of the UK Foreign Secretary Johnson. Lithuania’s Foreign Minister and Johnson discussed the situation in Ukraine and the possibility of provision of financial support for Ukraine. The Foreign Minister Linkevičius informed his counterpart about the outcomes of his visit to Israel. The interlocutors agreed to continue to cooperate closely on a range of important foreign policy issues, particularly on the Eastern Partnership.
Linkevičius and the Hungarian Foreign Minister Szijjártó signed an agreement on the exchange and mutual protection of classified information. The bilateral meeting discussed Hungary’s priorities during the period of its Presidency of the Visegrád Group, the planned rotation of the Hungarian Air Force at NATO’s Air Policing mission in Šiauliai in 2019, as well as cooperation on EU issues, the challenge of migration, and important energy issues.
