The ministry was yet unable to say what or who caused the attack but an announcement was made public today under the name of Anonymous Ukraine that claims that they are the reason the website is down. "We want NATO leaders to hear us. We don't want to be servants of NATO. Ukrainians don't wish to die, protecting the interests of NATO states," stated the posting.
Defence ministry spokesperson said that the attack took place only against the exterior web and stressed that the IT systems in the ministry's governance sphere work.
"We are in information exchange with all other respective authorities and do everything possible to get the website working again," said the spokesperson.
