With the occupation of Crimea and Russian aggression in Donbass ongoing, international support is paramount. It is especially important to continue U.S. and EU sanctions against Russia until the Minsk agreements are fully implemented and Crimea is handed back to Ukraine.
The EU-Ukraine Association Agreement that will come into full force in September is an important step forward on Ukraine’s pro-European path. However, Ukraine still needs support in the implementation of complex law enforcement and economic reforms and in fighting against ingrained corruption. Lithuania consistently supports Ukraine by providing different types of assistance.
