The environment committee votes Tuesday on plans to make EU countries plant more forest to compensate for changes in land use.
Fertilisers
The Internal market committee votes Thursday on proposals to promote organic and waste-based fertilisers as well as set limits on how much heavy metals such as cadmium they can contain.
Refugees
How the EU can help member states receive and integrate refugees will be discussed by civil liberties committee, Greek immigration minister Ioannis Mouzalas as well as representatives from the European Commission and UNHCR on Wednesday. Earlier that day MEPs will also hear from experts and Italian authorities on how search and rescue activities in the Mediterranean are going.
Media freedom
During a hearing on Tuesday MEPs will discuss the media situation in Bulgaria, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Poland and Romania. They will look at ways to protect and increase the independence of journalists.
Tax evasion
Finance ministers from Germany, Ireland, Italy and the Netherlands will appear before the inquiry committee investigating money laundering and tax evasion on Tuesday. They will discuss the measures taken by the EU in the wake of the Panama papers revelations.
