The President expressed strong condemnation of such brutal and unjustifiable act of violence that did not choose its victims, and offered Lithuania’s firm solidarity with the people of the United Kingdom.
On behalf of the Lithuanian people and on her own behalf, the President wished strength and fortitude to the victims’ families and loved ones as well as speedy recovery to the injured.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius sent a condolence letter the British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson, expressing his condolences over a terror attack on 23 May. Many innocent people were killed and were injured in the explosion in Manchester.
“We condemn this terror attack and express our solidarity with the people and the Government of the United Kingdom. We are actively pursuing cooperation with the United Kingdom and international community in the fight against terrorism. I wish strength to all the victims of this horrific attack,” reads the Foreign Minister’s letter.
