This year Lithuania and Israel mark 25 years of diplomatic relations. The President underlined that Lithuania highly valued the achievements attained over this period in consolidating bilateral cooperation, advancing the dialogue based on mutual respect and deepening common understanding.
She further pointed out that Lithuania and Israel were bound by shared interests and values, determination to safeguard the welfare and security of their citizens, and most importantly by cultural and people-to-people contacts. “The interest of our people in our respective countries, their wish to work together and invest in joint beneficial projects cannot be denied,” the President wrote in her message of congratulations.
Dalia Grybauskaitė expressed her strong hope that Lithuania and Israel would continue to develop the links of good relationship as their citizens opened up new avenues of cooperation.
She wished the Israeli President continued health and success as well as peace and prosperity to Israel and its people.
