Linkevičius said that Kazakhstan was a very important partner for Lithuania that contributed to stability and development in Central Asia.
“Our countries share both excellent political and economic relations ranging from cooperation within international organizations to cooperation in trade, transport, tourism, health, culture and other areas of mutual interest”.
The head of Lithuania’s diplomacy welcomed the decision of the Government of Kazakhstan to abolish visa requirements for citizens of member states of the European Union and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development from 1 January 2017.
Kazakhstan declared its independence on 16 December 1991.
