“The United Kingdom is one of our closest partners in the field of security and defence. Lithuania appreciates this partnership and intends to continue to foster and strengthen it. Our views coincide often. We work as one team – we are also united by shared values and a common understanding that we need to work together to overcome security challenges,” said Lithuania’s Foreign Minister in the meetings.
According to Linkevičius, during the meetings in London, officials took a great interest in Lithuania and in our country’s position on the situation in the region, Europe and the Eastern neighbourhood.
In the meeting with leaders of Lithuanian organizations in the United Kingdom, Lithuania’s Foreign Minister thanked them for their active effort to preserve the Lithuanian identity, to promote economic relations in the fields of culture, charity and other areas.
At an event that was organized at the Embassy of Lithuania to mark the Restoration of the Armed Forces Day, Linkevičius thanked Lithuanian troops for the determination to defend their Homeland and underlined the quality of Lithuania’s military readiness.
Lithuania’s Foreign Minister drew attention that although there were many security challenges, they rallied Lithuanian troops even more Lithuanian troops, whose strength and commitment to delivering their duty inspired many Lithuanian citizens and were highly valued abroad.
In London, Lithuania’s Foreign Minister gave an interview on the BBC programme HARDtalk, which will be broadcast already this week.
