In the letter addressed to the Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister, Linkevičius emphasized friendly relations between Saudi Arabia and Lithuania. Lithuania’s Foreign Minister expressed his conviction that the General Agreement of Co-Operation between the Government of the Republic of Lithuania and the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia provided a framework for future cooperation.
The agreement was signed on 28 February of this year in Riyadh by the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Neris Germanas. Lithuania has ratified the agreement and is interested in further expanding political and economic ties with Saudi Arabia.
Linkevičius also invited his counterpart to visit Lithuania.
