The officials overviewed China’s relations with the European Union, cooperation between China and 16 Central and Eastern European countries in the so-called 16+1 framework and exchanged views on the newest world events.
China’s Assistant Foreign Minister congratulated Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister on the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations, saying he was “glad that China-Lithuania cooperation is expanding. We are committed to continuing to work together to expand our partnership in various fields.”
Germanas welcomed the intensifying political, economic and cultural ties, stressed Lithuania’s wish to promote trade and Chinese investment in the country, discussed the One Belt, One Road initiative, which aims to connect China to Europe and is important to Lithuania.
Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister invited his counterpart to participate in political consultations in Lithuania next year. China’s Assistant Foreign Minister Haixing accepted this invitation.
