President Dalia Grybauskaitė expressed her condolences and those of the Lithuanian people on the passing of President Islam Karimov of Uzbekistan. “In this hour of sorrow, I also wish your country concord and stability. It is only unity, respect for human rights and national peace that can ensure the well-being and security of the people of Uzbekistan,” the President wrote in her message of condolences. The President wished all the people of Uzbekistan strength and fortitude.
