On July 19 Minister of National Defence Juozas Olekas departs for Washington (USA) to attend a meeting of the Global Coalition to Counter-ISIL in Foreign and Defence Ministers format on July 20-21. The Ministers of the US-led coalition will address progress made in the military campaign of countering ISIL, further operations, and political efforts to tackle the conflict. The Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania passed a resolution on June 29 authorising the Minister of National Defence to deploy up to 30 soldiers and civil servants to Operation Inherent Resolve.
