This year marks the twenty fifth anniversary of the reestablishment of diplomatic relations between Lithuania and Canada. Lithuania sees Canada as a very important partner and ally sharing common values.
“Today relations between Canada and Lithuania are very close and important. Strong cooperation on key defense matters and a common approach to topical items on the international agenda increase the security and well-being of our people and strengthen stability and peace in other regions of the world. Canada remains a special partner of both the Lithuanian people and Europe,” the President wrote in her message of congratulations.
Dalia Grybauskaitė also extended congratulations to the Governor General of Canada on his personal jubilee and wished him continued success, strong health and happiness, as well as a happy celebration to the people of his country.
