Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister welcomed plans to hold a well-rounded discussion on migration issues, stressing the importance of the external dimension of the EU’s migration policy. Karoblis also highlighted the significance of the protection of the EU’s external borders and of the completion of the internal market and digital single market. According to Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister, the leaders’ discussion on the EU-NATO relationship is extremely important.
“The discussion on the EU-NATO cooperation to be held during the June European Council meeting is timely and important in the run-up to the next NATO Summit in Warsaw in July. In the light of the evolving security environment, strengthened cooperation between the EU and NATO is needed more than ever, especially for the fight against hybrid threats and to address the migration crisis,” said Karoblis.
