According to the President, as a forward-looking leader sincerely concerned about social and environmental issues, the King of Sweden has gained immense popularity and respect among the people of Sweden and in the international community.
“It is with great warmth that Lithuania remembers the visit paid by Your Majesty and Queen Silvia to our country this past October, which was a true manifestation of close partnership and friendship between our two countries and their people. We are delighted that relations between Lithuania and the Kingdom of Sweden are steadily gathering strength and contributing to European unity, security and prosperity,” the President wrote in her message of congratulations.
Dalia Grybauskaitė also extended her congratulations to the growing royal family on the birth of the first son of Her Royal Highness Princess Sofia.
The President wished King Carl XVI Gustaf every possible success, health, the unending support and affection of his people.
