“Romania is an important partner of Lithuania. The country has taken the same positions on many foreign policy issues, which are important for Lithuania. Lithuania’s cooperation with Romania is of key importance when aiming to provide a joint response to common security challenges and to help the EU’s Eastern partners,” said Linkevičius.
Today, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between Romania and Lithuania, the Lithuanian Foreign Minister and the State Secretary of the Romanian Foreign Ministry also opened an exhibition entitled “The Influence of Brâncuși on the Lithuanian Sculpture” featuring the artwork of the Lithuanian sculptor Vladas Kančiauskas and photos of sculptures by the famous Romanian sculptor Constantin Brâncuși.
The diplomatic relations between Romania and Lithuania were re-established on 13 September 1991.
