By doing so, Lithuania contributes to the international efforts to provide emergency aid to Ukraine and assist 3.1 million people in the conflict zone or those affected by the conflict. Aid is needed in health, nutrition, hygiene, access to safe water, education, and other areas. As noted in the Humanitarian Response Plan 2016 for Ukraine by the United Nations and the Government of Ukraine humanitarian organisations are calling for USD 298 million to enable them to provide urgent humanitarian support and assistance.
Since the beginning of the aggression against Ukraine, Lithuania has allocated more than EUR 1.1 million from the state reserves available to the appropriation managers: the Ministry of the Economy, Ministry of the Interior, Ministry of Health; from the Reserve Fund of the Government; and the funds of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
