The Head of the Lithuanian Government plans to discuss trade and economic relations and further cooperation in China's +16 format with the Chinese Prime Minister, as well as address the question of export of Lithuanian dairy products to China.
During the visit the Prime Minister is also meeting with the management of one of the biggest Chinese industrial corporations China Merchants Group (CMG) and the e-commerce website Alibaba.com.
The Prime Minister will also go to Hong Kong for a meeting with Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Leung Chun-ying, the representatives from the trade and economic development sector, as well as for the visit to one of the largest financial centres in the world – Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
The cooperation between Lithuania and China has been increasing in the past years and encompasses a constantly growing number of areas of mutual interest. Lithuania welcomes China as a strategic partner in Asia aiming to develop and deepen mutual dialogue, seek new opportunities for our business, agricultural producers and infrastructural projects.
Meanwhile, China is interested in investment opportunities in our country. The CMG corporation plans to start its activities in Lithuania. During the visit of Prime Minister Butkevičius to China in November agreements were signed between the free trade zone in Klaipėda and CMG, as well as Klaipėda State Seaport Authority and CMG.
