After the ceremony, the Ambassador and the President of Tajikistan held a meeting and emphasized the need to strengthen bilateral economic, commercial and cultural relationship.
During the visit to Tajikistan, the Ambassador also held meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirodjidin Aslov, the Deputy Minister of Transport Zulfiya Yorova, the Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan Manzura Rustamova. In the meetings, the Ambassador presented Lithuania's economic achievements, discussed trends in bilateral trade and potential prospects for cooperation in the fields of agriculture, hydropower and science.
Both sides confirmed their interest in signing intergovernmental agreements on economic cooperation and on road transport.
During the visit, the Honorary Consulate of Lithuania was solemnly opened in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
