The construction of individual houses will remain predominant in the country as it accounts for 98.2% of all permits issued. Building permits were issued for the construction of 1749 individual houses with useful floor area of 284.5 thousand m2, i.e. by 14.2% less than in III quarter 2014. Building permits were also issued for the construction of 40 blocks of flats with useful floor area of 75 thousand m2, i.e. by 46.5% less than in III quarter 2014.
In III quarter 2015, 558 building permits were issued for the construction of non-residential buildings, i.e. by 0.5% less than in III quarter 2014. The total floor area of the non-residential buildings will amount to 508.6 thousand m2, or by 5% more than in III quarter 2014. In terms of the total floor area, the largest share of building permits issued were those for the construction of industrial buildings and warehouses (21.8%), and buildings of trade and catering enterprises, hotels (21.7%).
Over the first three quarters of 2015, 4191 building permits were issued for the construction of 4706 residential buildings, of which – 2 hostels. 8667 dwellings were equipped in 4704 residential buildings. Against the first three quarters of 2014, the number of building permits issued decreased by 8.2%, the number of dwellings whose construction was authorised – 2%. 1436 building permits were issued for the construction of 1789 non-residential buildings. Over the first three quarters of 2015, against the same period of 2014, the number of building permits issued decreased by 0.6%, the number of non-residential buildings whose construction was authorised – 8.7%.
According to the data of IS Infostatyba, in III quarter 2015, 1526 new residential and non-residential buildings were completed, i.e. by 18.2% more than in III quarter 2014. 1217 residential buildings with 2065 dwellings, useful floor area of which amounted to 245.2 thousand m2, were completed, i.e. by 6.9% more than in III quarter 2014. 4 hostels with useful floor area of 2.4 thousand m2 were completed. The average useful floor area of a dwelling in individual house amounted to 151.6 m2, or by 0.7% more than in III quarter 2014, in blocks of flats – 61.5 m2, or by 7.9% less than in III quarter 2014.
In III quarter 2015, 44.9% of all dwellings completed were in Vilnius county, 24.3% – in Kaunas county, 12% – in Klaipėda county, while the smallest share of dwellings completed fell in Utena (0.9%) and Tauragė (1.1%) counties.
In III quarter 2015, 309 non-residential buildings were completed in the country; the total floor area thereof amounted to 354.3 thousand m2, i.e. by 36.1% more than in III quarter 2014. In terms of the total floor area, the largest share of non-residential buildings completed fell within industrial buildings and warehouses (102.5 thousand m2), trade and catering enterprises and hotels (52.6 thousand m2).
In III quarter 2015, the largest share of non-residential buildings completed fell within Vilnius county – 19.7%, Klaipėda county – 18.8%, Kaunas county – 13.9%.
Over the first three quarters of 2015, 3817 residential buildings were completed in the country; 6401 dwellings were equipped therein. 19 hostels were completed. Against the respective period of 2014, the number of residential buildings completed increased by 23.4%, the number of dwellings completed – 19.2%. Over the said period, 843 non-residential buildings were completed in the country; the total floor area thereof amounted to 797.2 thousand m2. Against the respective period of 2014, the total floor area of the non-residential buildings completed increased by 36%.
