The observation deck located on the top of the tower offers sights of the Lakajai landscape reserve comprising the waterholes of the Baltieji and Juodieji Lakajai lakes and a picturesque panorama of Lake Siesartis with its islands and the famous Labanoras Forest. Lovely sights of the landscape give a feeling that one is on the roof of a nine-storey building. Those who are willing to enjoy this impressive natural panorama will have to climb 214 stairs.
The architecture of the new observation tower reminds of a slender tree trunk rising upward. Next to the tower, there are outdoor furniture, bicycle stands and a billboard. Visitors who have come by cars are invited to leave them further away and cover the distance of several hundred metres to the tower on foot.
The observation tower in Labanoras Regional Park was built under the project Management of Protected Areas. The project was initiated and implemented by the State Service for Protected Areas under the Environment Ministry, in partnership with the Directorate of the Aukstaitija National Park and the Labanoras Regional Park and Moletai District Municipality.
The project was co-financed using the European Union Structural Funds.
