Currently, there are most volunteers for military service in the district of Vilnius and Šiauliai. Official conscription will start on 11th May, but volunteers can sign up already now.

Volunteers are expected in the army and in case of their lack a special computer software will select the remaining soldiers.

Military service will last 9 months and it will include 19-26 year old men.

This year, the conscription should include 3 000 men. Later - from 3 000 to 3 500. Mandatory conscription will replace the existing 3-month military training base.
