"The Government will not be investing and the future of Air Lituanica will depend on investors if there are any. I have information from the Ministry of Transport and Communications that talks are taking place," the prime minister told the journalists on Wednesday.
According to Butkevicius, not only the Ministry of Transport and Communications is interest in having a national air carrier but the whole Lithuania is as well.
Just after being elected as Vilnius Mayor, Remigijus Simasius, member of the Liberal Movement, claimed he does not intend to close down Air Lituanica, but said that a private investor has to be found.
Members of the future ruling majority of Vilnius City Municipality Council agree that Vilnius can no longer sustain Air Lituanica.
