In 2014, the male unemployment rate stood at 12.2%, female – 9.2%. Over a year, the male unemployment rate decreased by 0.9 percentage points, female – 1.3 percentage points.
Last year, the long-term unemployment rate stood at 4.8% and was by 0.3 percentage points lower than in 2013.
In 2014, there were 158,000 jobseekers, i.e. by 14,400 (8.4%) less than in 2013. In 2014, there were 89,800 unemployed men and 68,300 unemployed women.
The number of the long-term unemployed was 70,700 (44.7% of the total number of the unemployed), which is by 3,400 thousand (4.5%) less than in 2013.
Over a year, the employment rate of persons aged 15-64 grew by 2 percentage points.
Last year, Lithuania's youth (persons aged 15-24) unemployment rate stood at 19.3% and was by 2.6 percentage points lower than in 2013.
