"I am convinced that our states will continue successful cooperation during your term of office in Vilnius".
The Prime Minister said that Lithuania was a promising country for German foreign investment in the banking sector, business, and information technology fields: German foreign investment amounted to 4.28 billion litas in Lithuania on 31 March 2014, and Germany ranked second in terms of the amount of foreign direct investment in Lithuania. The Prime Minister stressed that Lithuania's accession to the eurozone would yield additional impetus for the development of business relations between the two states.
Prime Minister Butkevičius and German Ambassador Schmitz also discussed cooperation in the NATO context, the situation in Ukraine, and agreed to encourage cooperation in the fields of science, culture, regional relations, and youth exchange.
