The conference 'Women in cooperation in favour of development: challenges after 2015' will take place in the capital of Lithuania on 8-10 October this year.
The project is organized by the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the Eastern Studies Centre and Lithuanian and foreign non-governmental organizations.
'This conference confirms that Lithuania constantly pays attention to the issue of women's rights and equal opportunities,' claims the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in its statement. The ministry also added that women´s rights and gender equality is a long-term priority of the Lithuania foreign policy.
The invitations to participate in this conference were accepted by the best experts of the women´s rights and gender equality from Baltic States, Nordic States and Eastern Partnership states, Mediterranean and Middle East region states.
The organizers expect the participants of the conference to share their unique experiences and examples of the most effective ways to solve problems related to women's rights and to lay the basis for future initiatives which will help to address the global problem of ensuring women´s rights.
The conference is supported by the President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė.
