The State Tax Inspectorate (VMI) announced the data on the Annual Declaration of Assets of Residents (Households), thus, it became known how rich the top Lithuanian politicians and state officials are.
The president declared LTL 2.45 million (EUR 710,000) in assets. Grybauskaite owns a real estate property valued at LTL 350,000 (EUR 100,000) and a land plot valued at LTL 80,000 (EUR 23,000). She also has other valuables subject to registration worth LTL 15,000 (EUR 4,400).
The president differs from other top officials not only in owned assets but also in substantial amount invested in government securities - approximately LTL 1.2 million (EUR 345,000). In addition, the president declared more than LTL 814,000 (EUR 236,000) in cash.
Assets of Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius and his wife amount to LTL 550,000 (EUR 160,000), the most valuable asset being a property valued at LTL 281,000 (EUR 81,000).
In the meantime, assets of Parliament Speaker Loreta Grauziniene and her husband are LTL 354,000 (EUR 103,000).
